Membership – What do you get?

For those not familiar with CrossFit, you may think that the membership prices are higher than a typical gym membership. Firstly, CrossFit is not a typical gym:

  • The equipment is different,
  • The Trainers are different, and
  • The outcome is different.

What do you get from a typical gym membership?  A monthly fee to effectively rent/use the equipment. That’s pretty much it. At CrossFit Oswestry, you will:

  • Make use of the coolest equipment. No gimmicky pieces equipment – only effective equipment.
  • Be trained/coached in EVERY workout.
  • Experience measured improvement and success. Plus MUCH MORE!

Everyone will have different goals; Everyone will have a different starting point; Everyone will have different capabilities. We understand this. Our certified and expereinced trainers will help ensure that you:

  • Get the most out of each session in accordance with the CrossFit prescription,
  • Perform the movements safely and effectively, and
  • Scale the workout appropriate to your level and capability.

Crossfit is a proven Strength and Conditioning program. This is why we personally subscribe to it. We have spent years trying to find the perfect program. We think that CrossFit is it!

The Community

As a member, you will become part of the CrossFit community. The community will encourage and support you in achieving, and exceeding, your goals every step of the way. You will make new like minded friends and have great fun performing the CrossFit workouts together. Whether you are first or last to complete a workout, you won’t be alone. Your CrossFit friends will be with you to provide motivation and encouragement in every workout. And, after achieving a Personal Record (PR), it’s ok to ring the ‘PR bell’ and shout out aloud. It doesn’t have to be World Record, and probably won’t be. However, it’s OK to be proud that YOU achieved something special for yourself. Everyone will cheer!

Sessions

Each CrossFit Session is typically structured in a standard format and lasts for one hour:

  • Warm-up, where we prepare the body for particular workout of the day.
  • Either, a Skill or Strength component, where we develop a skill or strength.
  • Perform the Workout Of the Day. i.e. with appropriate Intensity, variety and functional movement.
  • Cool-down and reflect on the WOD.

Each CrossFit Kids Session is typically structured in a standard format and lasts for up to one hour, depending upon age:

  • Warm-up, where we prepare the body for particular workout of the day.
  • Either, a Skill or Strength component, where we develop a skill or strength.
  • Perform the Workout Of the Day. i.e. with appropriate Intensity, variety and functional movement.
  • Play a game.
  • Cool-down and reflect on the WOD.

In order to help ensure everyone is fully prepared for safe and effective CrossFit Sessions, the fundamentals classes are a mandatory requirement.  These sessions will teach you the 9 fundamental CrossFit movements.  There is a 1 hour fundamental class to attend before you can attend a CrossFit session. These classes are schedule ad-hoc according to demand. This requirement may be waived if you are experienced in the CrossFit fundamental movements.
