ABOUT US

CrossFit Oswestry's aim is to help you improve your Health and Fitness using the CrossFit methodology. 

We have been a CrossFit licensed Affiliate for over six years. We are proud to be the first and still the only CrossFit Affiliate in the area. Our Trainers are all experienced in the Fitness industry and are all Certified CrossFit Trainers. 

CrossFit is for everyone. All levels of Fitness, all ages, and all backgrounds. From teenager to Grandparent. From couch to Athlete. From Builder to School Teacher, and from the Forces to the Desk job.

CROSSFIT S&C

This is our standard CrossFit Class:
✔️Coach led and programmed specifically to help get you Faster, Fitter and Stronger.
✔️Structured warm-up designed specifically for that session. 
✔️Movements, workout duration, and are different every day. So you wont get bored.

CROSSFIT ENDURANCE

✔️Longer duration CrossFit workouts.
✔️ Typically formatted to be performed in teams.
✔️Utilising basic movements and lower loads.

CROSSFIT OLYMPIC WEIGHTLIFTING

✔️Purely a barbell class. 
✔️Utilising the Olympic Weightlifting lifts: The Snatch, The Clean and Jerk, and derivatives. 
✔️Designed to help learn and practice Olympic Weightlifting without the intensity of CrossFit.

HYROX 

A Hyrox based class.This uses lighter weights or bodyweight movements. Easily accessible, building a good cardio Base.

WHAT IS CROSSFIT?

Constantly Varied Functional Movement Performed at High Intensity

FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENTS

CrossFit is a Strength and Conditioning program. It is Constantly Varied, and uses Functional Movements performed at High Intensity.
These are movements that mimic patterns that are used in everyday life. For example:
Squatting is standing from a seated position, and deadlifting is picking any object off the ground. Shoulder Press is putting an object on a shelf, and a pull-up is pulling yourself up and over an object. 
Functional movements are perfectly in balance with your body’s mechanics, and are therefore safe.

CONSTANTLY VARIED WORKOUTS

CrossFit workouts are designed to prepare you for anything life can throw at you. The program aims to improve the ten fundamental attributes of Fitness:
Strength, Power, and Speed. Stamina, Endurance, and Agility. Flexibility, Accuracy, Balance and Co-ordination.
Each of which are developed using a blend of Metabolic Conditioning (Cardio), Weightlifting, and Gymnastics.

HIGH INTENSITY

Each class will contain three components. A warm-up, a skill or strength element, and a Workout Of the Day (WOD).
The WODs are performed at HIGH INTENSITY, as per CrossFit prescription. This means that you will either be prescribed:
a. A specific amount work to complete, using specific movements, as quickly as possible, or
b. An amount of time to perform as much work, using specific movements, as possible
